During WWII, she had met a wounded soldier, who she had nursed back to health, & in so doing, had fallen in love ..
A few days after finally getting to California, via Ellis Island, Rhoda married her sweetheart ..
When she left England, she was a nurse and a masseur, and after further studying, & lots of hard work, she rose to the giddy heights of Chief of Physiotherapy at a Los Angelas Hospital ..
She had two children, a girl & a boy, and was known by the nickname of "Duchess" ..
She never saw England again ..
