Recycled Card

It was a 'challenge' - to make a card (minus the main card) from materials which you would not normally associate with card making .. Ummm .. What could I use ? ..

Later, when choosing a yoghurt for my supper, I carefully peeled off the top and thought "ah ha" ..

I washed the lid, then smoothed it out with my finger tip .. I didn't have to smooth it, it was fairly flat to start with, but, by smoothing it thinned it a little, and I liked the surface better ..

This done, I then took a flower punch, and a leaf punch, and punched some shapes .. And cut some thin strips of card for the stems (from my bit box) ..

They were all then coloured, using Permanent Marker Pens - mine are Pro-Markers ..

When the ink was dry, I assembled the card .. The leaves & flowers were attached using foam-backed pads - 1mm for the leaves, 2mm for the flowers - & the stems with a tiny blob of pva glue ..

Next, I worked the text in Photoshop - Printed - cut it out & attached to card ..

Hope you like it ..

Cuttlebug Doily Card

I have this very pretty doily. It's crochet, made by my grandma. Only tiny, 4½" square, part of a dressing table vanity set.

I took this doily, and used it to emboss some card in my Cuttlebug. Afterwards, used SU Stampin' Pastels to add some colour. I then cut round it, & mounted it onto some light purple card, then added it to a 5" square cream card.

The flower was made by using 3 different punches - using oddments of left-over bits of card - inking to change colour, and dabbing with a silver gel pen, to add texture.

I shall finish it off - add some ribbons & text etc - when the occasion arises. :o)))

I hope you like it ..

First Post - Hopefully of Many

Not at all sure I know what I'm doing (how many times you read that, aye) - I would imagine that everyone starting out with one of these Blog-Things, says the same thing .. We either start off with all good intention of filling the pages with something, or we start one, not really knowing what we're doing, or where we're going with it - well - I'm one of those .. I guess time will tell ..

I took these three colours .....

And made this card ...

I hope you like it ...
